IMAGINE KENYA 2012 ANNUAL FESTIVAL
BACKGROUND
IMAGINE KENYA TRUST is a registered Trust in Kenya with forty five community Based Organization affiliates. It is a home-grown initiative established to respond to current and emerging needs of the Children, youth and Women in urban and rural Kenya which is fully managed by the local community with individuals from representative groups undertaking specific responsibilities. It is thus a conducive environment where ideas are incubated, tested, implemented and eventually fully launched and managed by groups and individuals. Imagine Kenya provides a space for mentorship and trainings of different kinds as a catalyst for positive social and economic transformation among users and the wider community

Imagine Kenya vision is to challenge and awaken the residents and more importantly, the youth, to engage in, and work for the changes they want
The Organization commenced its operations in 1999 as a community based organization. In January 2007 members decided to operate country wide and hence the registration of Imagine Kenya Trust.
Imagine Kenya core intent is to empower the communities with the information that can improve their lives. This is attainable through establishment of integrated community resource centers, School Based programs, annual festivals, and radio programs and publishing of community magazines.
Imagine Kenya is a member and sits on the coordinating committee meetings of United Nations Special Sessions on HIV/AIDS (UNGASS) Kenya Chapter.UNGASS Kenya is composed of civil society organizations in Kenya spearheading HIV/AIDs, Gender Mainstreaming, Policy formulations and implementations pertaining sexual reproductive health.
Imagine Kenya champions for the implementations of policies for the public good through public dialogue, Civic education, and respect of human rights and monitoring and evaluation of public expenditure. This cannot be achieved in a scattered and hampered approach and that's why Imagine Kenya puts networking and collaboration in its epicenter approach.
